Rick & Lindsey Engagement
I love starting my day by taking pictures. Sunrise shoots help set me up for a productive day, and they are just fun! It only gets better when I get to take pictures with friends! Lindsey and I met over 3 years ago, and I knew then that I had found a true friend! We shared a love of Dr Pepper, all things carbs and baked goods, and we found solace in our shared burden of chronic illness.
When we met, she told me all about this boy that she was madly in love with that lived in another state. She held their relationship pretty close to the chest, and, for a long time, I assumed they were so casual that I could set her up with someone else local. How WRONG I was!
At the beginning of Lindsey’s last year of school at BYU Hawaii, Lindsey’s roommate was attracted to Rick’s roommate. She was trying to play it cool, so she set up a night out with all of them, hoping to make a connection. That night, didn’t work out for the roommates, but a connection was made between Rick and Lindsey. Things moved somewhat quickly from there, Lindsey even ended up inviting Rick to Thanksgiving with her “Hawaii family” a few months later.
When Lindsey graduated with her degree in Education the following summer, they went their separate ways. She went home to Las Vegas to start her career in teaching, and RIck stayed on the island to finish his degree.
Over the course of the next 4 years, they struggled through long distance love, always trying to make an effort for each other. He would come to town to help with work things when she was overwhelmed, or chauffeur her around to doctors appointment and procedures when her PCOS would flare up.
They would take weekend trips to Saint George for Swig, to Disneyland for Dole Whip and Italian Ice and epic selfies in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle.
When Rick was finally able to make the move Las Vegas, he didn’t wait long to make it known to Lindsey that he was all in for her!
He proposed in Disneyland, and she obviously said YES!
I’m so excited for their forever to start with an Oregon summer wedding next month!
